Example code for evaluating I2C RTC in Laird DVK BL654 ?

Hello,

I have to evaluate I2C functionality of BL654 module. There seems to be RTC chip in Laird DVK BL654 board. Is there somebody how has investigating how does it work in practice ? I try to run twi_scanner project but it doesn't find a RTC chip ? I put jumpers J17 and J21. What else I have to do ?

For specific questions about 3rd-Party products like this, you need to go to the particular manufacturer - ie, Laird.

Laird will be able to confirm whether or not their module does contain an I2C RTC and, if it does, what you need to do to use it.

Laird offers support only if using SmartBasic framework and if using SoftDevice stack or something else they can't help. If you say that you don't support either then I don't where to ask ? Mainly I'm looking for other developers who are working with Laird BL654 module and DVK BL654. Any ideas where to send this my question next ?

Well, Laird are certainly the ones to answer the question of whether or not their module has an RTC chip and, if it does, what chip it is and how it is connected to the nRF chip.

I think this question is best directed to Laird yes. I assume there may be a low frequency clock (32kHz) in the design, this is typically used by an internal RTC in the nRF52840 to maintain synchronization and timing, can it be that are referring to?

Looking at that again, perhaps Hannu Hirvonen is referring to an RTC Chip on the DVK board - not within the BL654 module?

But, in that case, surely the DVK documentation would answer the question ?
