How to enable UART COM port on nRF52840 Dongle

Hi 

I am working on nRF52840 Dongle S140 SDK15.2.

i am developing BLE NUS application for dongle. but dongle is not supporting UART com port through USB connection.

What should be enabled to get COM Port over USB?

I tried to connect UART pin 10, 13 externally to get UART port. but we do not want to connect this way. we want to get UART console over USB itself.

Please guide.

For development, it's far better to use a Development Kit (DK) - as then you have the debugger to see what's happening!

The dongle is great for once you have created a working application - but the development is better done on a DK.

Hi but developing on Dongle is my requirement. how to get UART over USB. Do i need to enable some drivers?

Even if the dongle is your final target, you will make your life a whole lot easier if you do the development - or, at least, the initial development - on a DK.

Not least because, as noted, the DK gives you the debugger.

Or do you have a separate J-Link already?

Yes - as Simonr suggests,   you need to implement the USB CDC ACM

hi i have only Dongle for development. i have already implemented NUS over UART. i soldered UART pins externally to get COM port. i am able to see results over serial port terminal.

but for Dongle we do not get any suc COM port after connecting it to computer. Hence i raised this question.

If i implement USB CDC ACM then i will be able to get a serial port, is my understanding correct?
