FYI,
the auto-update fails for version 2.7.0 of 'nRF Connect for Desktop’ with the attached error dialog.
I had to manually download it again from the link below, and that wiped all my prior settings etc…

I think Nordic havn't properly code-signed their Mac OS X install bundle, as I also had to allow the ‘insecure’ application install from the Mac’s :Security & Privacy” Settings Panel as well.
