Trying to run the RTC sample code from ncs/zephyr/samples/drivers with the ns board.

Dear All,

I am trying to compile and run the ncs/zephyr/samples/drivers on the nrf9160_pca10090ns.

For this reason, I have copy-pasted the file under the ncs/nrf/samples/nrf9160 folder. I also followed the advice in this post in order to allow the rtc to run in the non secure mode.

When I try to open the project in SES, I am getting the following error.

What is it that I am missing? I have been able to run several examples from the driver, including the i2c and the watchdog examples from there.

If I comment out the CONFIG_RTC=y line from the prj.conf file the project will load but when I try to compile it, it will fail at this point #include <drivers/rtc.h>

Hey,

The rtc sample hasn't been ported yet. If you want a similar functionality you can use the zephyr kernel timer instead.

Hakon thank you for your reply. 

My application needs to transmit some data with utc timestamps. What I intended to do is get the time from Internet every so often (once a day let's say) and then have the rtc counting from the moment I last received my timestamp.

Is there a convinient way of doing this?

There is the at+cclk command that you can use to get a timestamp from the network, and as previously mentioned the zephyr kernel API can be used to implement a counter. I linked to the documentation in the previous comment, everything you need to know should be found there.

Which is the time that my device has been active and not the network time. So is there a way to get the network time instead of this?
