Thingy:91 HW not supporting FOTA update of nRF52?

My understanding is that Thingy:91 HW doesn’t support FOTA update of nRF52 from nRF91 since the reset control line isn’t connected from nRF91 towards nRF52. My understanding is that a controlled reset of nRF52 is needed after update of the nRF52 SW.

 

Is my understanding correct?

Can you clarify what is lacking to support firmware update of nRF52 from nRF9160 on Thingy91. We need that information going forward with our project.

It's not possible because we don't have SW support for it today.

Regarding resetting the nRF52 after an update, you could always do a soft reset.

I was curious if anything has changed in the last 3 months regarding the ability to perform a FOTA update of the nRF52?
If FOTA is still not possible, is it possible to update via USB?

Hi, it's still not possible to perform FOTA update on the nRF52840 on the Thingy:91 board. 

You can program ut by using a debugger (such as the nRF9160 DK) and switching SW2 to the right in the nRF52 position.
