GSP is not working

Hi,

I have PCA10000 Revision 0.9.0 nRF9160 Board with external antenna (Molex 206640)

I try to make GPS work. Here is my step:

I compiled GPS under samples ..\root\ncs\nrf\samples\nrf9160\gps

It doesn't work. Always printing scanning [ - ], no GPA data is printed.

I also downloaded GPS from web site:

The project failed to compile.

undefined :

I had to change the above to

#define NRF_CONFIG_NMEA_GSV_MASK    
#define NRF_CONFIG_NMEA_RMC_MASK   

compiled and run. But it still fails to get GPS data.

I also downloaded an example udp_gps from

But I got the following error:

What did I miss?

Hi Heidi,

I updated modem firmware to version 1.1.0.

The SW2 (switch 2 - name exactly) is switched to the left. ( It is the default position of the board out of box).

I tested outside under open sky on the parking lot. No GPS data received.

Just as a reminder, I am at New York. The satellite above Norway may be not the same satellite above us. The udp_gps sample, the mask has _GNSS_, and gps sample has _CONFIG_. I don't know about details. I am not sure that has anything to do.

 I think my instructions were unclear. Switch it to the opposite of the default position out of box. Towards CON and not ANT.

I tried the Switch to con position (left). It still doesn't work.

I wrote 2 instead of 12 in my original reply, sorry about that. Just to be completely clear, this switch in the image below should be to the left. Use something small to move it. 

Try with this .hex file instead and let me know how it goes.

Hi Heidi,

The switch position was in the 'CON' position when I tested previous gps firmware. With this new version of gps_sample.hex, the GPS is finally working. Thank you for your efforts to make it work. What changes do I have to make from the gps sample included in the SDK release? Can you send me a copy of source code through my email? But it still requires to run in the open-sky outside building.

Do you have a working example that combines UDP or TCP/IP with GPS? If not, can you help me to create one, which will be very helpful to us. We have been taking too much time to make GPS work.
