How to calculate cadence using gyroscope/accelerometer with nrf52

Hi,

I'm trying to understand how to powermeter bike works. I read the ant documents and execute example bpwr ant code, but I have a question how cadence in power meters are read? Using accelerometer or gyroscope? I have a mpu6050 arduino board and I want to create a homemade power meter. Anyone can help me?

powermeters are made with accelerometers that can be driven with coin cell batteries because they are low power and low voltage.

the cadence can be calculated from centrifugal acceleration,

but it needs a good algorithm to filter the shocks from the road and rider's leg on accelerometer and

remove the effect of gravity.
