Advertising channel sequence

Hello,

Our product is BLE Beacon.

We have developed original software on nRF52832 SOC.

To keep up with your latest technology we transitioned to nRF52810 SOC.

To my understanding one of the improvements in nRF52810 is ability to randomize sequence of advertising channels 37, 38 and 39.

We do not know how to make sure that once we write the software it will randomize sequence of advertising channels 37, 38 and 39.

Our understanding it will help with reducing collisions when many Beacons located in same area (this our case).

Also, how do we test for random sequencing.

Please provide guidance how we randomize sequence of advertising channels 37, 38 and 39.

Hi Igor,

The Softdevice will generate advertisements that are randomized with a random delay in the range of 3-13 ms. This will help with collisions when many beacons are placed in the same area.

This is the same for both nRF52810 and nRF52832.

The feature you are referring to is Randomized Advertising Channel Indexing, which is an optional feature of Bluetooth 5.1 which we don't support.
