Could not find RTT Control Block - Systemview

I am trying to set up a Segger Systemview for trace FreeRTOS/ISR events while the application is running, but upon doing so, I see Could not find RTT Control Block.
Timeout: 20000 ms error.

Target interface = SWD at a speed of 4MHz, and RTT Control block = Auto Detection.

so Nordic doesn't really have official support for systemview since the patches aren't integrated?

We take a look at that patched file. It is not a patch file format, so you cannot use the git diff. Try to unzip the file and replace the corresponding files in the SDK.

I'm now seeing Could not find SystemView Buffer error. Am I not supposed to invoking some APIs in the application?

I have managed to make this work for SDK17.2 with ble_app_freertos. Please find the attached project, which includes the patched files  to test it yourself
