NRF9160 Sip GNSS ( GPS ) Issue

Hello NRF ,

We have been using NRF9160 DK GEN-1 board for NB-IOT and GNSS tracking and able to configure  network SIM as well as the NRF cloud .

We have used SDK 1.4.2 and GPS tracking example to verify data transmission of the onboard sensors and GPS.

The issue is while running GPS functionality , It always shows status as  unhealthy and GPS coordinates are not getting reflected over cloud  .

Since we have juggled a lot on this and it's creating halt in our production So , kindly reply us to fix this as soon as possible  .

Are you inside when you are testing the GPS?

We have Tested in outdoor ( 5th floor terrace )  as well as indoor ( inside office , 2nd floor )

GPS does not work in doors. I would recommend that you try again outside away from any tall buildings, as this can hinder the signal from reaching the antenna.  

Most times the issue is due to something covering the antenna like buildings sealings or people. Have you tested with a external antenna?

That said, the GPS performance on the newer DK's do have some improvements.

- We have done this with gps antenna which comes with the DK board . But same result .

- You mean to say , GEN-2 boards have better performance related to GPS than GEN-1 Board ?
