P0.23 is used for the external memory on the nRF52840 DK, but is not used for anything on the nRF52 DK which is why you may use it for your application without doing any hardware changes.Please also make sure to check the pins you are using against the Pin Assignment of the SoC in question, to make sure that you are using a appropriate pin for your application.Best regards,Karl
