False connection with a device

Hello everybody,

I have an issue related to a peripheral which only lets a connection to be established using the proprietary (brand) mobile application. I try connecting to the device via nRFConnect but nothing really happens, It's like a "false connection".

I'm assuming that because when the device is connected via its own application, a Bluetooth logo appears in the device; however, when I "connect" via nRFConnect, nothing really happens. Actually, I was able to "establish a connection" via nRFConnect while the device was off.

Anyone knows what might be happening?

Sorry, but could you please  try to elaborate what you mean by "nothing really happens"? What is expected to happen, and what actually happens? Some screenshots which illustrate the problem may be helpful.

What it is expected to happen (and it happens when I connect the peripheral via its own app) is to get notifications from the peripheral while using it. 

What happens to me when I connect to the peripheral via nRFConnect, enable the notifications and use the peripheral, is that I am not getting any notifications. 

I will provide screenshots for each case ASAP.

OK thanks. I would also suggest that you take a log at the logs (swipe right to view on android) to see if there were any errors when you tried to enable the notifications.

I got the screenshots for either case.

Case 1: I try to connect to the peripheral via nRFConnect without the brand mobile app running in the background

Case 2: I connect the peripheral with the brand application and debug with nRFConnect

Note that when I am using the brand mobile app there's an event which is [Broadcast] Action received: android.bluetooth.device.action.ACL_CONNECTED. That is the only thing that differs.
