nRF9160 - Any (complete) working examples with required code to get Segger Systemview working? Current Issue is SystemView Buffer Not Found

I was wondering if there is a <complete> example someplace with Systemview running - an example for the nRF9160-DK would be nice.

I have the following in proj.conf:

CONFIG_SEGGER_SYSTEMVIEW=y
CONFIG_SEGGER_SYSTEMVIEW_BOOT_ENABLE=y
#CONFIG_UART_CONSOLE=n
#CONFIG_RTT_CONSOLE=y
# CONFIG_HAS_SEGGER_RTT=y
CONFIG_USE_SEGGER_RTT=y
CONFIG_SEGGER_SYSVIEW_RTT_BUFFER_SIZE=4096
CONFIG_SEGGER_SYSVIEW_SECTION_NONE=y

There's no issue with finding the RTT Block address - I see on some answers someone has said the Systemview Buffer issue and block address issue are the same - you can see in the attached the Systemview tool is finding the block address - you have to look in the zephyr map file and find the _SEGGER_RTT label - or you don't get past that.

An interesting tidbit - Systemview will run on the onboard MK22 on the nRF9160-DK.

I appreciate your help and this discussion.

Why don't we try to do something useful here that will benefit all?

Is there a way to get heap stats out of System View - I'd rather focus on that vs. on some heap issue our particular app is having since I think in the future that will prove to be more useful.

How many heaps does the nRF9160 Zephyr build really have.  Only 1/2 of the 0x40000 byte SRAM is allocated for the app heap - how to get a global pointer to that in such a way System View can display that - is it possible?

I'm willing to spend more time on this if you are - and I think this is something that is needed and will be beneficial to all.

Don't have a answer to the two requests, but have some info to whoever looks at this in the future. 

As an "alternative"

It is possible to use the memory report feature to get a overview of the device. 


There is the Heap tracing API in Zephyr as well here https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/services/tracing/index.html#heaps
