I have been getting used to the picture below when attempting to access the Infocenter and Devzone throughout the last year. Have you received other reports about these services being terribly unstable, or is it only me? The unreliability of the Infocenter is the most concerning issue, I suppose.
sorry to hear you're having troubles. The DevZone has had a narrow birth this winter and we're still fighting some infrastructure issues that involve timeouts and failed http requests. Will stick to it until we have solved that, of course. The infocenter had some issues during April and May.A cause was found and amended, so hopefully we're past that for now.
Please report back if you are still experiencing downtime in the infocenter!
Thanks + cheers;Eivind
Thank you for the reply. I must say though, I do not believe these issues are limited to April and May of this year. I've had problems accessing both the Devzone and Infocenter on many occasions since September. The Devzone is consistently sluggish, and why does the top banner have to occupy so much screen real estate?
To me this is more of an annoyance than a problem, but for Nordic Semiconductor this should be considered a major problem. Documentation up-time should be 99.99%, where announced and planned maintenance should account for the majority of the last 0.01%.
Hi Fredrik thanks for reporting.YES - now is the time to start mending other stuff. Too many things could not be properly diagnosticized with the ongoing performance issues that we had. That reply button things sounds weird. Could you please check whether you have this problem across more browsers? If, for example, your regular browser is Chrome; could you try a clean (w/o extensions) Firefox session and see what happens?Cheers;Eivind
Everything works as expected on a clean install of Firefox as well as in an incognito tab in Chrome. I tried deleting all 139 (!) cookies from devzone.nordicsemi.com, and now everything works in non-incognito tabs as well. I'm on Ubuntu 16.04 if that helps.
I have had issues with cookies on this site in the past, so that seems like a good place to start.
thanks for the feedback - and would you be so kind as to keep reportin (in this thread if possible :-) ) when/if you start having these issues again?
I'll keep this thread alive with new issues as I find them.
I purged all cookies from nordicsemi.com yesterday morning, but today there are 80 new cookies. It seems I receive a session cookie whenever I click on any link in devzone... Session cookies are supposed to be deleted when the browsing session ends, but I have the "continue where I left off" setting enabled in Chrome so the session never really ends. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10617954/chrome-doesnt-delete-session-cookies
I'm no web dev, so this is all guesswork.
