Is the N51802 QFAA0 a nRF51 rip off ?

I've heard of a Bluethooth device called a N51802 QFAA0, which is possibly a nRF51 rip off / clone.

Has anyone else heard of this.

From what I've been told its fitted in some fitness trackers, including this one www.ebay.com/.../281909052367

And the chip seems to be ARM Cortex-M, but thats all the information I have.

BTW. I think you would be mad to buy a nRF51 rip off, I'm just interested to know if anyone has heard of this device.

I haven't heard anything about that but it's listed in "nrF51deviceids.xml" among valid targets as issued by Nordic with nRFgo Studio (and probably other tools). So I guess it's some custom version (therefore no official information on Nordic website or Infocenter) but you might get products with it and it should be genuine nRF51;)

I didnt know Nordic did custom / private versions. I wonder how its functionality differs from the standard version.

I have been told that the internal Device ID is not the same as any known nRF51, so some programmers will not upload code to it.

So, I will pass on the info about it being a custom product
