nRF Connect can't select serial port and start scan

Hi there! I am a beginner of bluetooth technology.

We try to build a kind of IoT based on bluetooth mesh nodes with nRF51822. According to the instruction of nRF Connect 1.1, we download all the software and drive,but when we open the software, nothing we can drag from the "Select Serial Port" button.

So I don't know why we can't open the bar after we tried many instruction from this website.

How can I solve this problem?Thanks a lot!

I have met this problem,see this It's seems relating to Jlink debuger. I have two jlinks one can use "select serial port",the other can not. It must be recognize as a"JLINK CDC UART Port".hope it usefull.

Does your nRF51822 board have a J-Link debugger on it?

Yes, it does. For now, I changed the JLINK to v9 version and nRF Connect can open the serial port finally. However, more problems are coming.When I click the port in the list, it says"could not open the port. Please power cycle the device and try again." Do you know how to fix this?Thank you for your time!

Could you try erasing your device using nrfjprog? You can use the command nrfjprog -f nrf52 -e.
