nRF sniffer questions

HI: I use my own nRF51822 board for a snifer(not PCA10000, PCA10001 and nrf51822 development dongle). Run ble-snifer-.exe, I could ger the information as figure 4 in ble-sniffer-win-1.0-User Guide.pdf. Press w start the wireshark, and then select the slave device in the Sniffer program. But I just see advertisements from all nearby devices. When I connect the Central to the Peripheral, I couldn't catch data any more.

The sniffer firmware is 0.9.7. Wireshark is 1.10.7. I use serial port to communicate, TX_PIN:P0.09, RX_PIN:P0.11 . Connect P0.10 to GND.

Only nRF51822 PCA10000/PCA10001/nRF51822 Development dongle can be used for sniffer??

I suggest that you use RTS and CTS for the UART just like the PCA10000 boards and try again. You need to use the 4 wires for the UART and not just 2 wires.

Edit: Update the firmware to the latest version of the sniffer firmware and it should be much better. The latest version as of date is 1.0.1

I have exactly the same issue with my USB dongle. I can see the SCAN_REQ and SCAN_RSP and ADV_IND packets, but as soon as I connect, nothing. Disconnect, and I go back to seeing the above packets.

Never mind, there was a mismatch with the firmware version. Updated the firmware and everything works as expected.

I do notice if you send a lot of data, it will miss packets though.

I have the same problem with the latest version... I just see advertising packets? I am using Version Wireshark 1.12.9 under Windows 10 and the NORDIC SEMICONDUCTOR SNIFFER SOFTWARE v.1.0.1_1111
