Do we need to buy MAC addresses for BLE beacons?

Hello.

We are building our project based on nRF52 chip and BLE beacon firmware. Do you know if we need to buy some MAC address range from "provider" or we can code some randomize address in this case? I´m not sure about obligations and law.

Hi,

No, you do not have to buy Bluetooth MAC-addresses. The MAC address that is by default being used, is a random static address that is programmed to the chip during the chip production. See this answer for more details on how this MAC address is derived.
