Temperature Range of the nRF52

Hello,

I am currently searching for BT and NFC Chips, which can deal with a bit more than the usual 85°C. The nRF51822 is specified to 105°C, is it possible to run devices of the nRF52 Series at the same Temperature range (even if not specified -> no guarantee of course)? Is there a plan for a specification coming for 105°C for the nRF52 Series in the future?

Thank you for your answers in advance.

  • Sure, it might be possible, but running the nRF52 outside its maximum operation conditions may permanently damage and/or affect the reliability of the device. Quoting the Product Specification:

Maximum ratings are the extreme limits to which the chip can be exposed for a limited amount of time without permanently damaging it. Exposure to absolute maximum ratings for prolonged periods of time may affect the reliability of the device.

Subsequently, we strongly advise against using our ICs outside their maximum operation limits.

Unfortunately, we cannot disclose any roadmap information here on this forum, but if you send me a PM then I can provide you with the contact information to our Regional Sales Manager in your area, who might be able to provide you with some more information.

    Best regards

    Bjørn
