nRF51822EK communication with an external MCU?

Hi,

I bought nRF51822 Evaluation Kit and would like to blue wire an external MCU( Kinetis Cortex-M) to talk to the SoC. It looks like the SoC on this board has many GPIOs access but I'm not sure which one could make a serial communication with an external MCU. Does anyone have any suggestion?

Edited: I think I see SB9-SB12 UART path on the board that could be used to talk to nRF51822. Can someone verify this is OK to blue wire another MCU instead of the Atmel (SEGGER)?

The nRF5 has very flexible pin muxing. You can set up any GPIO pins as RX/TX.

You could also use SPI, but UART is probably simpler.

As Charles is saying, the nRF51822 has an on board pin crossbar for the digital interfaces which means that you can route the UART traffic to any of the GPIOs. The functionality of the pin with regard to SPI, TWI, UART can be defined in firmware.
