Is it possible to send messages via the SWD interface of the processor?

Actually we are facing some problems debugging our custom code using breakpoints and/or single stepping. Searching the forum I found that using the uart seems a possible solution as replacement for printf debugging. Unfortunately this is not possible for our project as the uart Interface is used by other Chips. Therefor my question about using the SWD Interface for "printf debugging". We already used this method in another project (Cortex-M4 + Segger J-Link).

To be honest, this isn't a feature we have tested out much yet, so we don't have any fixed setup to give you. However, we do suspect it to work and it should be possible. At this time, the best information we have is this guide from ARM themselves. https://www.segger.com/jlink-real-tim...
