Can an STLINK be used with nRFgo Studio?

The JLINK is costs hundreds of dollars, the STLINK is less thank $20 USD (available on ST's Discovery boards). I would really prefer to use the STLINK. Is there a way to program the SoftDevice and the Application without using JLINK? My target is the nRF51422.

How about something like this one. It can flash softdevice + app + DFU without requiring mergehex. It costs about $45 but it's a stand alone CMSIS-DAP jtag, not linked to a dev board. embeddedsoftdev.blogspot.ca/.../idap-link.html Multiple boards can be used to flash in parallel for gang programming using the IDAPnRFProg on Windows or OS X.

We haven't tested STlink with studio and it probably would not work. We have been working with Segger J-link. There might be other way to use STlink with our nRF51422, but we do not have any support for it available.

OpenOCD 0.9 works well with the nRF51422 part.

I use the following commands in a telnet session:

reset halt

nrf51 mass erase

program s110_softdevice.hex verify

program myApp.hex verify reset

It works for me.

Is there a list of supported/tested programmers? JLink is expensive ($1000). STLink would be nice if it works as it's proliferate.

/update Nevermind, I realized there is the edu version of the J-Link. $60 USD is very cheap.

It is - and it's very good too - works down to minimum voltages. And despite the name 'Edu' it's actually available for anyone for non-commercial work, it's really JLinkEdu or Hobby.
