nrf51822 beacon and SDK 8.0.0

Hi,

any plans to release firmware package for nrf51822 smart beacon using Soft device 8 and SDK 8? Thinking I better ask before I start adapting it on my own.

Hi

There are plans on doing that, but I can not say about when. For now, you will have to stick to the Beacon kit firmware 1.1.0 which contains bootloader from SDK 7.1 and uses softdevice 7.1. You can also upload any BLE example from nRF51 SDK 7.1.0/7.2.0 to the Beacon kit with your Android or IOS device, you just have to adjust the LED and button mapping of the examples to the Beacon kit. My answer on this thread explains a little bit how to do this.

If you had an nRF51-DK, could you just load the new Softdevice, and recompile the boot loader?
