Master control panel installer error 2908

Dear community and support,

I am trying to install Master Control Panel 3.9.0.6-x86 on a Windows-XP virtualbox. The installer fails with the following message : "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2908."

The Windows event viewer reports an event code 10005 in the MsiInstaller.

    Hi,

    This is most likely related to the MSI installer, and not a problem we can fix. If you Google your error code you will find that this is a quite common error. I suggest you browse through some of the google hits and see if you can find a solution there.

    To summarize, this can happen on Windows 9x/XP, when you try to remove & re-install a package with too many components.

    Removing the following key from the Windows register removed the 2908 errors on my side :

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
    Installer\UserData\S-1-5-21-1123561945-1935655697-1060284298-1003
    Components\AD95649F068525549B26938D7D18FEA7
