Hi,
This depends on your application. How often do you receive an advertising packet? Does the advertiser include a scan response? An advertising packet contains 28 bytes of usable data (31 with flags). A scan response contains 31 bytes of usable data. An advertiser can broadcast advertising packets 50 times a second. So in an ideal world where all packets make it to the observer we get a theoretical throughput of:
Without scan response:
50 packets/s * 28 bytes/packet * 8 bits/byte = 11.2 kbps.
With scan response on all packets:
50 packets/s * (28 + 31) bytes/packet * 8 bits/byte = 23.6 kbps.
(In a central mode the S130 supports one packet per connection event. In peripheral mode it is 2-3 packets per connection event)
Hi,
I am asking S130 as a observer role.

Thanks for the information. Can you please provide me answer for the below question.
1.What is the probability of data receiving when the broadcaster and observer placed at a distance of 3 m range. Pls share the facts and figures about distance Vs performance
2.If we want to achieve the maximum throughput in the 3 m range and also minimum power consumption , what are the recommended setting for observer and broadcaster role (scanning and advertisement interval) Regards, Anand
Both question 1 & 2 depend on so many factors like environment, walls, reflections, interference, PCB design, etc. that it is impossible to give you any values on this. Here is a pretty extensive guide on current consumption.
