How does the "Bluetooth low energy SDK for Arduino" mentioned in the above thread differ from the nRF8001-SDK?

Hi

The nRF8001 SDK for Arduino is the one we recommend to use. It was created because of shortcomings in nRF8001-SDK. The nRF8001 SDK for Arduino is cheaper to buy and you get more simple programming environment with the Arduino IDE. You get the nRF8001 SDK for Arduino here. There are also links on the thread to sites where you can get the RedBearLab Arduino shield with nRF8001 on board.

How dependant on the Arduino IDE is it?

I am developing a standard embedded application - no Arduino.

It won't be "simpler" if I have to spend time disentangling it from all the Arduino stuff!
