Issue regarding nRF52832 Preview DK

Hi, I have just received a nRF52832 Preview DK and I am trying to set it up according to the description in the nRF52 Series - Get Started section. I have connected the micro USB/USB cable from the nRF52 DK to the computer, but the computer doesn't recognize the nRF52 Development Kit board as a standard USB drive. The LED (LD5) I blinking fast, which doesn't seem correct. According to the description in the Get Started section it sounds like it has entered bootloader mode. But I can't get it out of this mode.

What can I do when the DK is not recognized? And is it correct the LD5 is blinking fast once I power up the board? Thanks.

Are you sure you installed the SEGGER J-Link software pack? www.segger.com/jlink-software.html

The LED will blink slowly in bootloader mode. Blinking fast means there is some communication going on over USB. Bootloader mode can be entered by switching the device off and holding down the reset button while turning it back on. The LED will be blinking slowly and this is how you know you are in bootloader mode. If you switch the board back off and turn it back on without holding down the reset it will boot up in normal mode

Yes I have installed the J-Link software pack and restarted the computer. I can see the whole SEGGER folder under programs. It doesn't find any Third party devices after successful installation, but I don't know if that has anything to do with that. I am able to enter bootloader mode as you describe, where the LED starts blinking at a slower rate. When I then reboot the board it goes back to fast blinking of the LED. I have tried both on my Windows and Mac laptop, but I don't see any USB drive as describe. When I try to Build and debug/run from Segger Embedded Studio (you suggested me to try that out after my question earlier today:-)), then I get the error "Can not connect to J-Link via USB".

Problem solved. I changed to another USB cable and now it works. I was a micro USB/USB cable from a wireless charger, but apparently it doesn't work. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for the support.
