"Couldn't read CONFIGID register" error when using nrf51822 with STLink and OpenOCD

Hi, I have setup my system for working with nrf51822 with openOCD and STLink to program it. The blinky went well. But now when i try to program it i get the following error:

Couldn't read CONFIGID register auto_probe failed

when i do nrf51 mass_erase

Any idea what i am missing?

This is an error generated by OpenOCD (see github.com/.../nrf51.c. Which OpenOCD are you using ?

I use Eclipse, gcc/gdb, OpenOCD and the STLink v2 every day without any issue. You said the blinky works: do you use a SoftDevice ? Are you able to erase the whole flash, program A SoftDevice or the application ?
