nrf52 NFC Antenna

Hi,

the nrf52-DK is using an molex connector to connect the Flex-PCB NFC Antenna. Due to some mechanical issues in our product we have to make the wires longer. It looks like there are two PCBs connect via wires. On the main PCB there is a nrf5832 IC and on the second PCB there will be the user interface with an PCB Antenna for NFC. Is this possible? What do i have to think about when i need to extend the wires to the antenna, isn't this also an antenna?

Hi Nils,

You can have longer wires, no problem. The wires will add inductance to the antenna which have to be taken into account when choosing the value of tuning capacitors, see here. On a PCB the added inductance of a track is about 1nH/mm.
