NRF52840 , Soc Revision, Soft Device and SDK compatibility matrix clarifications.

Hi, 

I'm considering to update the SDK used in my projet from v17.0.2 to 17.1.0    current Soft device in use is version 7.2.0

Let me stay with an open question. 

Considering that at the moment our product is assembled with NRF52840 SOC rev 2  and by the end of the year we might switch to rev 3. 

Would it be supported by SOC rev 2 if we already update our firmware to SDK 17.1.0  and S140 SD 7.3.0?
or
Is it so that while SDK 17.1.0 seems to be compatible for both SOC rev 2 and 3,  S140 SD  7.2.0  would be for SOC rev 2 and  7.3.0 would be for SOC rev 3 only ?

Hi.

Revision 2 should be compatible with S140 7.3.0 and SDK v17.1.0,

So it should be fine to update your fw already now.

Is there a reason why S140 7.3.0 is not part of the SDK 17.1.0 downloaded from nRF5 SDK downloads - nordicsemi.com and is only available from S140 - nordicsemi.com ?

I'd like to confirm that we can simply replace S140 files (7.2.0) by the corresponding 7.3.0 in the appropriate SDK folder.

I talked with the person responsible for that site, and they had forgotten to update it.

This should work, you can confirm it by running a Softdevice example such as the ble_app_beacon after replacing the files and see if it works.
