Write new sim profile on integrated eSIM chip on the Actinius Icarus Board v.2 with nRF9160

Hello everyone,
I am currently trying to gain experience on how to write profiles on a eSIM chip. For this I bought the Actinius Icatus Board v2. This board has an on-board eSim chip with a test profile and is powered by the nRF9160 chip.

I use the following tools:
- nRF Connect Desktop
- Actinius Programmer
- nRF Connect SDK v2.3.0
- VS Code with nRF Extensions

My goal is to write other profiles to the eSim chip and then establish an internet connection. Unfortunately I can't find anything in the documentation about this.
The following question arises: Is it technically possible to write an eSIM chip with the nRF9160 chip? If so, is this also supported by the eSim chip on the board?

In the long term, the SIM profiles are to be transmitted over the air. In the first step, however, writing via a physical interface is sufficient.

    Hi,

    We at Nordic do not sell the Actinius Icarus Board v2, so it is not directly our product. The nRF9160 does not have an eSIM onboard\inside the SiP. But eSIM is supported. 
    Looks like the Icarus board comes with an eSIM on the product and seems to have some free data for a limited time. 

    From the wording on the on the Actinius web page it does not seem like they provide any tools to help re-use the eSIM with anything else then their own subscription service. Have you contacted Actinius about the matter? 

    From my understanding not all eSIM's allow multiple installations/writes so this will depend on the physical eSIM installed on the Icarus product. But could be that it can have multiple profiles

    Follow the recommendations/guide from a mobile network operator/provider and use the  UICC AT commands to achieve what you want.
