SAR FCC certification

Hello, I am trying to implement a special version in the product that I am developing to be able to test and pass the SAR FCC certification. For this purpose, it is needed that the BLE antenna has a continuous tone and a maximum transmission power; therefore, I was using parts of the Radio test sample to achieve the FCC specifications. Right now, I am implementing an unmodulated TX, with the radio mode of BLE 2Mbit, a power of +8dBm and everything being transmitted through the channel 2.472Ghz.

My question was if this was a correct way of implementing a continuous tone in maximum tx power? Or What would be a more optimal way to do this?

Hi,

 

This should work. If you do not have a spectrum analyzer to verify the output, you can check the current consumption of your device. It should be >10 mA, especially with this high of an output power.

 

PS: Remember to start the HFCLK before setting up the unmodulated TX output.
