Half bonding : Stop re-bonding flow before Android popup

Hi all,

For my application I have this flow:

1. Click on physical button on the product (blinking for 1 minute, bonding allowed)
2. Connect with NRF connect to it, a bonding is launched and succeed.
3. I suppress the bonding at phone side (not at product side)
4. I restart the product and do NOT put it in bonding mode.
5. I connect the the device with a "half bond" (bond only still there at device side)
6. I connect to the device
7. I receive a bonding request (I do not want this).

For my application I need to avoid having an Android pairing popup when outside of the device "bonding mode".

How can I know before the Android Pair request if the bonding is full and we are not in a repairing case ?

 

I want to avoid the bonding modal to pop on Android if I know I am going to kill it afterwards, to avoid confusing my users.

You mean you remove the device on the phone side, and delete all the bond data? 

Is this something the user would normally do? 

If you don't want to keep the bond on the phone side, why do you need to bond in the first place?

Yes no, the user removes the bonds at device side.

Suppressing the bond at phone side is something our users something do and which gets us into a strange state.

The key thing we want to know is if the user has removed its bonds, right after connexion, and before the rebonding started.

Could you try to comment out the call to pm_handler_on_pm_evt(p_evt) in the pm_evt_handler(..) function?

Most likely this call is the reason you get the pairing popup when you connect to a phone where the bonding data has been removed.
