Changing hardware-revision for our nrf9160-product (NRF9160-SICA-R7 -> NRF9160-SICA-B1A-R)

Hi!

We have a product controlled by an nrf9160 currently running an application based on mfw 1.2.3 and NCS 1.5.1. We are working on migrating this to use NCS 2.4.0 and newer modem firmware at some point in the near future, but this is not our main concern at the moment. Our manufacturer have in previous production-batches used the NRF9160-SICA-R7, but have now suggested switching to NRF9160-SICA-B1A-R and we are scoping the ramifications of this change. Firstly, the existing DEC0-capacitor will have to be changed to 4.7uF (from our current 47uF) based on PCN 134, yes?

I have a question regarding "nrF9160 Hardware Design Guidelines (nWP-037)" In this you suggest to add more capacitors around the nrf power supply in order to ensure low power usage. For our product power usage is of no concern (constant supply in industrial setting), however the stability of the chip is. We would like to avoid a hardware-revision implementing these changes if possible, so my question is whether leaving these capacitors out will impact the stability of the chip (other than the mentioned power concerns)?

Also it is important that the chip will work with our current applicaiton software (NCS 1.5.1).

Thank you for your help in this matter!
