Building nRF9160 at_client fails due to "Unable to find a board; is the board connected?" in Bash through Toolchain manger

Hi,

Using Bash from Toolchain manager. After I run "west flash --erase" I get FATAL ERROR: Unable to find a board; is the board connected?.

I have followed the instructions in https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/config_and_build/programming.html#gs-programming-cmd and are trying to program the board. I have already upgraded the firmware with the programmer application with MCUboot enabled. Now i am connecting the Thingy:91 to my computer using the USB and trying to program it from bash. What am I doing wrong? because the nrfproj --com comes back empty!

Hello,

Please see that Thingy91 doesn't comes with an onboard debugger. So you cannot program from the bash directly, this is reason it's showing the error "Unable to find a board". You need an external debugger (supporting Arm cortex-M33) for programming the Thingy91 like nRF9160DK.  The link you are pointing is a general link for building an application. It's bit different for Thingy91.
