I own the nRF52840 Dongle
I downloaded nRF Sniffer for Bluetooth LE v4.1.1.zip straight from Nordic's site then extracted the zip, I also plugged in my dongle and ran the nRF Programmer app and I opened the hex folder inside the zip I downloaded, and saw the sniffer_nrf52840dongle_nrf52840_4.1.1.hex file, my dongle went into DFU mode where the light started flashing red and I attached the sniffer_nrf52840dongle_nrf52840_4.1.1.hex and clicked write, and ever since I did that, when I plug in my device and select it in the nRF Bluetooth LE app It shows this:
Then when I go to the nRF Programmer app and select my device it shows this error:
and it does not go into DFU mode or it doesnt flash red anymore and the reset button does not do anything. It wont let me write a file to the device anymore.
But ever since I wrote that hex file into the programmer into the usb device, its now able to be seen in wireshark so I can use the device in wireshark but not in the nRF connect and inside the nRF Programmer on the right where it shows the memory, it says UNKNOWN FAMILY. the hex file was straight from the manufacture and I did write the correct model of my device into the device the nRF 52840 dongle hex file I dont know why the device just broke with all the nRF Connect apps. Please Help is there anyway to bring my device to the original state ?
I wrote that hex file onto the usb using the programmer so that the dongle would support wireshark but it does now support wireshark but I didn't know it would kill the functionality of the nRF Programmer or nRF Bluetooth LE app
