VS Code libraries

Hello, I am creating a project in Visual studio code by following the instructions in the videos, but the project does not compile because it cannot find the libraries. I'm trying to fix it by giving the whole file path and adding it to "CMakeLists.txt" but it doesn't work, too many library errors. How can i solve this problem.

I see that all libraries are in the project directory.

Thank you for your helping.

  • Hi Fatih,

Could you share the Support Information? You can get this by selecting the "Generate Support Information" option.

    Best Regards,

    Priyanka

  • Where can I find the support information? Are you talking about vs code or this site?

  • Hi,

From the Support Information, it looks like you have the v2.4.1 installed in a different path. Please try to install them all in the same path, say, c:\\ncs\\

Also, you do not seem to have the Toolchains installed for v2.4.1.

I would suggest you to try uninstalling all previous versions as well as toolchains and install them once again in the proper paths.

  • I Loaded the toolchains, deleted everything and reinstalled it. Where should I create the project. does it matter where I create the project

Which one should I select when I create project.

If I select the Workspace it clone a repository it almost 3GB. Is that good way.

If I select Freetanding it does not find the libraries or boards.

I am using NRF52832-QFAB controller on my custom board. Which board should I select.

I tried to create a new board but I could not add to my project because there is no "add custom board" option

I created a project with these settings.

    library gave a error.

I tried to add build configuration wtih these settings

but it gave error it is looking like this

    CMakeLists.txt

    and support information

  • Hi,

There is this option to create a custom board. Please try with this:

A Freestanding application is one that uses the preinstalled nRF Connect SDK, whereas the workspace uses west workspace to check out the different versions of the nRF Connect SDK from the git repo, creating their own SDK instances.

  • Do you not have an option of creating new (custom) board in the welcome section too, as I mentioned in the screenshot of my previous reply?
