Zigbee Switch sample fails out of the box with "No crypto suite for Zigbee stack has been selected"

I am following these tutorials:

I have an nRF52840 Development Kit, so naturally I selected the nrf52840_nrf52840 board as the build project. I added the prj.conf file under Kconfig fragments and left the remaining stock as it was.

Then I hit build, and I get this error:

I have not made any other changes to the project.

Any clue how to fix?

Hello Morten, and sorry about the delay. It can be a bit hectic during these summer months here on DevZone due to low staffing, though things are getting better now.

In other words, everything is default right?

So what sample did this error occur from building exactly? I just built the Zigbee light bulb sample in NCS 2.4.1 without issues, just to try one of them. Are you seeing this error when building that one too?

Hi, I was facing the same issue.

The example comes with a "prj_fota.conf" and a "proj.conf". Selecting the "prj_fota.conf" instead of "proj.conf" when building did the trick for me.

I'm facing the same issue on a NRF5340 DK. I've selected NRF5340dk_NRF5340_cpuapp.

I built the network_coordinator sample. Left everything default. I tried with Use build system default configuration and prj.conf as Configuration setting. I've tried with SDK version v2.5.0 and v2.3.0. I can't select any kconfig fragments.

I also tried the light_bulb with the same results.

I noticed the following warnings:

i fixed it by opening a different project (test project from months ago), with a different workspace. Selected:

create new application, 

Copy sample

[search for sample]

save in the same workspace

select add to existing workspace

Board: nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp_ns
Configuration: prj.comf
Kconfig fragments: boards\nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp.conf
overlay: boards\nrf5340dk_nrf5340_spuapp.overlay

So it could be pathlength or workspace related or not actually copying the project to a new project (that caused me to be able to change the kconfig fragments and the overlay
