How to configure modem on custom nrf9160 PCB

Hi,

   using the nrf9160dk I can get an LTE-M connection and MQTT service (SW based on cellular fundamentals course examples).

The same firmware on our custom PCB will not connect to LTE-M network. I assume I have to update device ID in custom PCB and do something with certificates for modem?? I've been through the documentation but it's not clear to me.

What is the process to setup a new nrf960 SOC for LTE-M connection?

We don't have a free UART, only RTT. Is it possible to do via RTT?

Hello Duncan,

I know that our modem shell supports RTT. You may want to look into that.

If that is possible hardware-wise, you could also have a some kind of production test image with AT host library that redirects one of the UARTs to some unused pins and then do all the configuration that way before flashing the production image.

    thanks for your reply. 

I managed to find the problem. Our custom PCB has the option for eSIM or regular SIM and it was defaulting to eSIM. Solved! thank you.
