Flutter DFU (Android/iOS) library for nRF5340

Hello,

I'm looking for an existing Android/iOS Flutter DFU library that supports nRF5340.

I found this one: https://pub.dev/packages/nordic_dfu but with limitations to nRF51 and nRF52 support only.

Is there any news or plans for nRF53 Flutter DFU support?

Yes, we do. The source code is located here: NordicSemiconductor/Flutter-nRF-Connect-Device-Manager: A Flutter plugin for McuMgr libraries for Android and iOS. (github.com) and the library is published here: mcumgr_flutter | Flutter Package (pub.dev)

We're currently in a process of adding new features to the Android and iOS libraries (not really related to nRF53), so when done we will also update the Flutter wrapper. But the current version should work fine for you.

Great efforts on the Flutter library! Few questions:

Do I understand correctly, the mcumgr_flutter is the library used in these two:
https://pub.dev/packages/nordic_dfu
https://pub.dev/packages/flutter_nordic_dfu

Which means, as long as one of these is used, there's no need to also use mcumgr_flutter?

Any plans on the Windows support for Flutter? As it is possible to create Windows/MacOs/iOs/Android applications with a single code-base in Flutter, it would be really handy to have the DFU OTA available in Windows OS as well. And if there are no plans for the Windows support, are there any libraries you know for Windows to be able to do the DFU OTA to a Nordic SOC?

No. pub.dev/.../nordic_dfu supports legacy and secure DFU protocols, used in nRF5 SDK. Legacy DFU was in versions 4.3-11, while secure DFU from 12 up until the latest one 17.x. These a single library for both of them. Note, that's this flutter wrapper wasn't made by Nordic, but it's using our native libraries for iOS and Android.

pub.dev/.../mcumgr_flutter is compatible with DFU over SMP protocol, that's used in nRF Connect SDK. 

These 2 libraries aren't compatible with each other and the choice of them is dictated by which SDK you use on nRF chips.

Regarding Windows, unfortunately we don't have plans to support other platforms in flutter.

I use nRF Connect SDK, so, I believe, the pub.dev/.../mcumgr_flutter is the library to use for me.

On Windows, though, let's omit Flutter, but are there any libraries for DFU OTA created by the Nordic Team? Or maybe any process/utility to make DFU OTA happen? In the end, it is always possible to write some wrapper for Flutter, even if it means running let's say an nrfUtil under the hood
