FYI, please see this article in SD Times from yesterday.
As a developer primarily using the Mac platform, I've welcomed the advances in the nRF Connect SDK and the substantial support for development using the VS Code IDE. A key element is parity between the Windows and macOS native development environments. Much better than having to run a Windows VM in a tool like Parallels Desktop for Mac for me and other Mac-based developers.
So what does this Microsoft announcement portend for macOS developers using nRF Connect SDK? Early days, so I don't expect a comprehensive answer from Nordic yet. But whatever the details are, I encourage Nordic to maintain parity in effectiveness and ease-of-use between Windows and macOS (and Linux, too) development environments. I suspect this goal will be increasingly relevant as the general IOT development community take advantage of the dramatic performance advances in Apple-silicon-based hardware.
Thank you for your substantial developer support,
Mike
