when to start a ble service thread and when can i stop it

hello Nordic

i am working with nrf52840, nrf52832 with ncs 2.3.0

working with softdevice controler.

i wish to avoid thread running on my system when not required to do so. an example of that is a ble service thread i have which, obviously relevant only when BLE connection is on.

however, i am not sure if initiating it at "connect" callback and flag to end it gracfuly at disconnect is safe enough.

any thoughts on that matter will be most welcome

i did manage something for now but i am not sure its best practice and i am still hoping for some insights

if you don't have any on the subject you can close the thread

It will be safe to kill the thread when the disconnect event happens.
