nRF52840 dk not powering up or getting detected in pc

I was working with the nRF52840 dk recently. I tried to upload a hex file via nrf connect programmer tool. during the process, the power became off. we tried to perform soft reset by entering the device into bootloader mode by giving supply after holding the reset switch. the led5 is on only for a second when USB is connected. But when we checked the VDD gpio pin and 5v pin, we were able to get the required voltage. all these happened in VDD power supply mode. When i tried to switch to USB mode, the LEDs 1,2,3 and 4 are blinking at a very low brightness. the worst part is that, even Jlink is not getting detected.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance

I think it would help if you could take a picture of the board, how it's connected and how the swites are placed. By default when programming through USB the power switch should be in middle mode (VDD).

I would just have double checked that the USB cable in question is good, and it's not meant for charging only. So for instance trying on a second PC with a different USB cable can be a good step for debugging. In this particular case it may seem as the board have been damaged somehow (E.g. ESD/EOS), this happens rarely, but I don't see other option that possible get a new one.

Hello, Thanks for the reply. I have double checked the USB cable with other nrf52 dks and it works fine, I also checked the same dk board with other pc with other usb cables which have data transmission and reception  support, but still the result tends to be the same

Seems as the board have been damaged then, not much that can be done with that. I can see digikey have quite a lot of them to a fair price: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/nordic-semiconductor-asa/NRF52840-DK/8593726?s=N4IgTCBcDaIHYCcBmBWMAOALABgLQBMBrEAXQF8g I suggest to order a few kits is possible.
