Functional Safety Libraries

Hi there,
Does Nordic Semiconductor provide any Functional Safety libraries? I'm thinking here IEC60730 Class B. If not, is there a 3rd party that has done it?
Thanks!

Is your company considering building such libraries to aid your customers in the design of such products? Are there any 3rd parties that you can recommend, perhaps?

Not that I'm aware of, but if one looks at the requirements of the specific standard, it boils down to safety measures such as data integrity (checksum verifications), fault handling, runtime execution handling (such as using a watchdog), and highly likely other measures, as I'm not familiar with this specific IEC std.

We do provide features such as image verification through mcuboot, using fault handler and MPU protection (stacking/overflow detection), and all nRF5 devices has a watchdog peripheral.

As mentioned, this type of certification is on a product level, and not something we can do specifically certify for one of our MCUs. As you also mention, there is possibilities of providing guiding on what to implement, but unfortunately, we do not have this.

    Kind regards,

    Håkon
