Windows PC does not connect to Thingy 53

Hello,

I use the Thingy 53 with ios App, Windows with Visual Studio Code and nRF Connect for Desktop.
I can programm samples to the thingy with the ios app.

I can see the thingy in the nRF Connect for Desktop with the progtammer, it is connected via USB-C cable.
I get following error:

No operations possible for device.

If the device is a MCUBoot device make sure it is in the bootloader mode


When I use VS Code the device is not found at all.


Do you have a solution for my problem?

Hi Philipp, 

The board need to be put to Bootloader mode before programming. 

Have you followed the documentation to hold SW2 switch when you switch on the Thingy53 ? https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/device_guides/working_with_nrf/nrf53/thingy53_gs.html#updating-through-usb

After that you should see
  
instead of Thingy53 application. 

Then you should be able to flash the board. 

Note that we have an issue with Thingy 53 firmware and nrf Connect for Desktop v4.1.2 , as discussed here:  Thingy53 Not able to reprogram using MCUBOOT opr nrf5340-dk. 

You may need to use v4.1.1 

Regarding VSCode, it's not able to flash the Thingy53 from VSCode,  you need to use the programmer to program.
