Hi support,

I want to create a beacon using a BC805M module from FanStel, which uses an nrf52805.

I must have the lowest possible consumption because I will be powered by a battery.

I use the BLE-APP-BEACON example with the S112 softdevice as a basis.

What difference in consumption can there be if I use the internal RC oscillator or if I use a 32.768KHz Quartz?

Is the difference significant?

Hi,

You can find a deep analysis of current consumption differences between LFXO and LFRC in this post. This is for nRF52832, but the analysis method should also be relevant for nRF52805 variant.

The Online Power Profiler for Bluetooth LE can be configured for both internal RC and external crystal to see the actual current consumption for your parameters. This does not support nRF52805, but if you select nRF52810, this should give very similar results to what you would get with nRF52805.
