os: Illegal use of the EPSR in AWS_MQTT for zephyr

Hello developers,

I am working on the Zephyr code to publish data from nrf5340 to the AWS cloud using the 4G module and mqtt_aws_iot sample code. The code is working fine on SDK version 2.1.0 but now I am using version 2.4.0 and I am getting the following error.

Please suggest to me the way to resolve this. Thanks in advance.

Maybe it's a stack overflow. Try to double CONFIG_MAIN_STACK_SIZE

Thanks for the quick response. 

I have increased the stack size as 

CONFIG_MAIN_STACK_SIZE=160461

CONFIG_LOG_PROCESS_THREAD_STACK_SIZE=4096

 

But the problem remains the same.  I think this is not because of stack overflow this is some illegal use of EPSR. 

I have read in one solution https://github.com/zephyrproject-rtos/zephyr/issues/24283 , they suggested to comment to comment out DNS server configuration. But in my case, it is essential as I am working on code aws_mqtt and gsm_modem for resolving the IP address of the server.

Please suggest any other way.

Hi!

Could you try to resolve the flash mapped addresses using "arm-zephyr-eabi-addr2line.exe"? The lr value could have some info.

arm-zephyr-eabi-addr2line.exe -e my_build_folder/zephyr/zephyr.elf 0x00001ea7

You can find arm-zephyr-eabi-addr2line.exe in e.g.

C:\ncs\toolchains\v2.2.0\opt\zephyr-sdk\arm-zephyr-eabi\bin\arm-zephyr-eabi-addr2line.exe
