nRF proximity app doesn't find device with iOS9

Dear all, I'm using an nrf51822 (running softdevice 6.0.0) with the proximity profile.

With iOS8, I was able to find & pair my device with the nRFproximity app. After upgrading to iOS9 (9.1, 13B143), I wasn't able to find the device anymore.

Is somebody able to use the nRFproximity app on iOS9?

I'm talking about this app: image description

I attached two screenshots of the nordic master control panel: Device details image description Discovered services image description

  • Hi Julian,

The nRFProximity app is deprecated and we stopped maintaining it for a while.

Please use the Proximity profile inside the nRFToolbox app instead. I just tested and it worked.

I'm also curious to understand why nRFProximity stopped working from iOS9.1. I will update here if our developers find something.

  • nRF proximity was originally made for iOS 6.0. Since we have the proximity app in nRF toolbox we are not maintaining it any more. One of the main issues is that the app is using CB_Peripheral.UUID which was deprecated after iOS 7.1. There are other issues as well. Regardless I recommend following Hungs advice and use the proximity app from nRF toolbox. You can remove the other apps and modify this to suit your needs if wanted.
