We develop sensors with nRF9160 that will be placed in fixed locations at factories all over the world, in the number of thousands - tens of thousands.
Our challenge with regards to operators is therefore not mobility, but global reach and how to efficiently produce sensors without needing special batches with different SIMs according to who has coverage in the area they are to be placed in. Operator selection will typically be done once in the lifetime of the sensors.
When I learned about SoftSIM, I got interested in whether we can produce our sensors with eSIMs (MFF2) from one vendor, say Telenor Connexion, and have the opportunity to install SoftSIM additionally and switch to that one instead? Or are there any limitations on using SoftSIM when a physical SIM is connected?
