Bluetooth Low Energy data throughput: "Maximum" means PEAK or AVERAGE?

Hello,

I'd like to clarify the description in the document "S140_SDS_v2.1.pdf" about the data thoughput indexes of Bluetooth Low Energy.

In the Table 39/40 the index "Maximum data throughput": Does that mean the PEAK rate that can reach in a "short" time interval, or a stable AVERAGE rate in a relatively "long" time period?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

The term "Maximum" here means that you will get this throughput if the application reads data packets without any delay as they are received and provides new data as packets are transmitted. This is the throughput value that could possibly be achieved, meaning it is "possible" if there are no issues / concerns. The maximum throughput depends on the mechanism used to transfer data.
